They start touring, and their shows take on a mythic quality. Brockhampton no longer live together. While their initial chemistry was fueled by the devil-may-care dropping of everything to move in with friends they met on the internet, the group now arrives to their headquarters in waves. The group has found that much of what made them a productive, manic, and beloved group was eventually going to break them. The brutal creative benders that birthed the Saturation trilogy in a single year were simply not sustainable. They hit a wall. I wake up and I sit at my computer until I literally fall asleep in the chair.

So, how did Brockhampton come to be? Well, in , Kevin decided he wanted to start a musical collective. At first, there were about 30 members, but the number dwindled as they became more serious about cultivating their sound. However, they rebranded the following year as Brockhampton. Throughout their musical journey, the group has made a handful of other alterations to their framework — notably, the ousting of cofounder Ameer Vann following sexual misconduct allegations — until they became the now strong squad.
